Finding the good within us

I was sitting here today working with someone and we are taking an inventory of what to change about ourselves, and what we want to keep.

Because we all have good stuff within us-yes we do. You do. I do. Certainly the individual I was working with does.

How often we forget that.

It seems we are all on a vigilant mission of self-improvement.

That, in itself, is not a bad thing.

There is always room for growth.

But, please, remember that every single day, you do good things

You have many awesome qualities. Right?

I can list 35 right now and I bet you can own quite a few.

For instance, you may:


  1. Be a good parent, child or sibling
  2. Be loving & kind
  3. Be responsible
  4. Volunteer
  5. Be forgiving
  6. Do errands for others
  7. Be a good pet owner
  8. Be creative
  9. Be empathic
  10. Be a good employee
  11. Be a good boss
  12. Be punctual
  13. Be a good home maker
  14. Be a good cook
  15. Be helpful
  16. help others
  17. Be financially responsible
  18. Be organized
  19. Keep commitments
  20. Take on commitments
  21. Know when to say no
  22. Know when to say yes
  23. Lend an ear to a friend whose hurting
  24. Be good at keeping in touch with friends and family
  25. Be a good host or hostess
  26. Keep confidences to yourself
  27. Try not to judge others
  28. Have patience
  29. Be able to apologize
  30. See where you have gone wrong
  31. Be intuitive
  32. Be hard working
  33. Know when to relax
  34. Know what others may enjoy (gifts, books etc)
  35. Share what you have
